Our Foundation
(Our: Faith, Freedom, and Fellowship)

Our foundation at Solid Rock Church of Elgin is our faith in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior (Romans 5:1-2, Romans 10:8-11). Our faith in Christ gives us freedom from the consequences of sin for eternity (Romans 5:8, Romans 6:23), and freedom from bondage to sin on earth (Galatians 5:1, Romans 6:7, Romans 8:37). Our freedom in Christ propels us to love and serve others (Galatians 5:13, Romans 12:13). Our faith and freedom unite us in regular and consistent fellowship with the Body of believers at Solid Rock Church of Elgin (Hebrews 10:24-25, 1 st John 1:7, Acts 2:42).

Our Pillars
(We: Learn, Love, and Lead)

Solid Rock will grow in our faith in Christ, freedom from sin, and fellowship with one another by learning about life and love through the Word of God. (1 st Timothy 3:16-17, Romans 10:17, Proverbs 1:5 and 9:9). Learning about God and life in the Word of God transforms us through His love for us, in us, and through us (1 st John 4:16, John 3:16, Romans 8:38-39, John 15:9-13). Our love of others is the primary manifestation of our love for Christ (1 st Corinthians 13:4-8, Romans 13:8, John 13:34-35). Through our knowledge and experience of love we lead others to Christ, in Christ, and for Christ (Galatians 6:9, Luke 6:31, Hebrews 13:7, Matthew 20:26).

Our Lens
(Be: Grateful, Gracious, and Generous)

The foundation and pillars of Solid Rock Church will generate a lens of gratefulness for the love of God, salvation in Christ, the empowering of the Holy Spirit, and our fellowship with one another (Psalm 118:24, Psalm 100:4-5, Colossians 3:17, Hebrews 12:28).  A grateful heart and attitude lead to a gracious lens with each other and the community (Romans 12:10, Galatians 6:1-2, Ephesians 4:32). With a grateful heart and a gracious spirit, we will be generous with our time, talents, and treasures - with each other, the community, and the least of these (1st John 3:17, Hebrews 13:16, Luke 6:38 and 12:33, Matthew 25:34-40).
