Elliott was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was baptized at age 12 but didn’t sanctify his heart and yield his soul to the Lord until he was a sophomore at Judson College in Elgin. While at Judson, Elliott traveled in the summers with a music ministry team as a drummer and rotational teacher. Elliott graduated from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School with a MA in Counseling in 1991 and worked as a Crisis Family Therapist in Wheaton while being a Resident Director at Judson in the men's dormitory. For the next 11-years Elliott worked in Athletics and Student Development at Judson and finished that tenure with six years as Vice President of Student Life.
Elliott was called to ordination and to pursue a full-time Pastor position in 2003 and was ordained by Calvary Baptist Church in Elgin in 2004. Shortly after that he left Judson to serve as Senior Pastor of Elgin Evangelical Free Church for eight years. From there he moved to Westminster Christian School as Dean of Spiritual Life and Head of School and was also by-vocational Pastor at Elgin Community Church for three years. He returned to Judson in 2015 as the Wellness Center Director overseeing mental and physical health for five years. Currently, Elliott is Assistant Profesor of Psychology and Pastor to Staff and Faculty at Judson and was called to be by-vocational Senior Pastor at Solid Rock Church in 2019.
Elliott is a frequent conference speaker on mental and spiritual health in the church and community, trauma impact and recovery, and marriage partnership and restoration. He is a crisis consultant for Judson and many churches in the area. He has a podcast with his sister, Dr. Karin and Pastor Elliott, Love and Life Media (link to podcast here).
