Key Verse: “Jesus said to them, ‘Come and have breakfast.’ None of the disciples dared ask him, ‘Who are you?’ They knew it was the Lord.” (John 21:12, ESV)
Brief Reflection:
After a long, discouraging night of fishing with empty nets, the disciples saw Jesus standing on the shore with a charcoal fire already burning and fish cooking. He didn’t wait for them to bring food—He had breakfast ready. Then He simply invited them: “Come and have breakfast.”
This tender moment shows us a beautiful truth in the Meals with Jesus series: Jesus meets us in our weariness and disappointment with kindness and provision. He doesn’t scold the disciples for going back to fishing. Instead, He welcomes them, feeds them, and gently restores them. Even in our failures or seasons of doubt, Jesus prepares a place for us at His table.
Practical Application Questions:
Closing Prayer:
Lord, thank You for preparing good things for me even when I feel empty or discouraged. Help me hear Your gentle invitation to come and fellowship with You. Restore my heart as I spend time with You this week. Amen.
